Meet Our Designers: TRESby Anna Kopito | 29.09.14
The name says it all – TRES – three stylish women working together under one name to create gorgeous, contemporary womenswear. Simple and chic, the collection comprises harsh structural line with flattering tailoring. With intricate slashes and alluring cuts in the pieces, the dresses are held together with delicate studs and smart buckles which puts these three designers a cut above the rest.
Telavivian: What one piece of clothing do you wear the most?
TRES: Dresses. At the moment most of our collection is dresses as well so it’s even easier.
What is you idea of the perfect Saturday morning?
The three of us usually go to the Beach and then get fish and chips.
What is your favourite drink?
We are drinking a lot of Aperol spritz at the moment.
What is your greatest achievement?
The response that we get from our customers is our greatest achievement. That what they have bought from us has become their favourite item in their wardrobe. When we started we wanted to dress as many girls as possible and that summer collection completely sold out – we are very proud of that.
Best wall colour?
Black! All three of us are very minimalist so probably white, but we want one wall in the studio to be black so that we can write on it with chalk.
If you were to die and come back as an animal, which animal would it be?
Dafna – unicorn.
Noy – lizard.
Noa – cat.
What is your perfect accessory?
Shoes or bags – we don’t really do jewellery but if we had to focus on one statement accessory it would be shoes.
What would you like to change about the fashion world?
We would like there to be more female designers working as chief directors in big fashion houses. Women designing for women is always better – like Céline or Stella McCartney. Women understand women’s bodies better.
What is your motto?
Good materials and good fit.
How would the world be different if it was run by women?
Less war – better communication and lot more style.
What do you like most about your new collection?
The ease and nonchalance when you wear the clothes – they are easy, not simple but easy to wear.
What is your highest ambition?
To try and dress as many customers as possible!
If you weren’t a designer, what would you have done instead?
Noy – a race-car driver.
Noa – a psychologist.
Dafna – a carpenter.
What is your favorite restaurant or cafe in Tel Aviv?
Casino San Remo and Café Habima for sandwiches.
What is your most treasured possession?
Our fabrics because our biggest struggle is to source really high quality fabrics, so when we find a good fabric we just go crazy for it.
Who is your favorite Israeli artist?
TRES is one the 5 participating brands during Telavivian’s first Pop Up Shop for Israeli design. RSVP here.
