Meet Our Designers: Aviva Zilberman

by Anna Kopito | 19.11.14

Aviva Zilberman’s latest collection hits all the right spots – or should I say stripes? Fusing perfectly elegant classics like the French breton with contemporary, more masculine structures, Aviva creates clothing for the modern and style-conscious. Perfectly entwining wearable designs and fabrics with a delicate sophistication and femininity, Aviva’s collection presents a realistic and beautiful look that will allow the women who wear it to feel as sensuous as they look.

Telavivian: What one piece of clothing do you wear the most?

Aviva Zilberman: A striped dress or a top.

What is you idea of the perfect Saturday morning?

To make something that is bigger than me – to discover something that I am curious about and to decode it.

What is your favourite drink?

Gin and tonic.

What is your greatest achievement?

To be in the present.

Best wall colour?

White of course!

If you were to die and come back as an animal, which animal would it be?

A penguin.

What is your perfect accessory?

A pinky ring.

What would you like to change about the fashion world?

To make it more human.

What is your motto?

Discovering new places to discover me and myself. To find out how something can change from literal meaning to creation.

How would the world be different if it was run by women?

It would be much softer.

What do you like most about your new collection?

That you can get lost in it and to feel as if you have understood everything and nothing at the same time.

What is your highest ambition?

To keep being stimulated.

If you weren’t a designer, what would you have done instead?

I would cook.

What is your favourite restaurant or cafe in Tel Aviv?

It changes – but I like Bertie on 88 King George Street.

What is your most treasured possession?

How can I answer that?!

Who is your favourite Israeli artist?

Liz Hagag.
